Nine-participant in the All-Star Game in the NBA Allen Iverson has decided to end his career, said ESPN.

Officially the news of his retirement from basketball, the 38-year-old American will be announced on October 30 during the first home game of the Philadelphia Seventy Sixers where Iverson held a large part of his career.

Rival of Philadelphia in this game will be the current champion Miami Heat. Iverson has not played at a professional level since 2011, when he left the Turkish Besiktas.

The guard was near the end of his career in the autumn of 2009, when terminated his contract with Memphis Grizzlies.

Iverson still remained in the sport, signing with Philadelphia. In 2001 he was named as the best player in the regular season.

Then Philadelphia reached the NBA Finals, where Seventy Sixers in five games lost to the Los Angeles Lakers. With Team USA Iverson won the bronze medal at the Athens Olympics in 2004
