After four wins and a 17: 0 goal difference, with Manchester City continuing to top one-shot more than United`s rival United, Josep Guardiola expected to win the September 2008 Premier League prize. The Citizens defeated Liverpool and Crystal Palace by 5: 0, while Watford even scored more. City also beat Champion Chelsea 1-0. Tottenham striker Harry Kane was named the best footballer. For him this is the fifth such reward in his career. Only Steven Gerrard has more such distinctions - six. In September, Kane took part in four Premier League games for Tottenham and scored six goals.
