Hingis will finish his career at the top of the list

Martina Hingis will finish her professional career at the top after the WTA confirmed that the 37-year-old Swiss could not be offset from the first place in the pairs. A day earlier, she announced that she would end her tournament after 25 Grand Slam titles won, and the third time will surely be the last.
Hingis and her pairs partner Yun-Jiang Chan have nine titles together after forming an almost invincible duo at the beginning of the year. The WTA added that the two would be only the fifth pair in the history of women`s tennis, which ends with a tie in the top points in the rankings. The rest are Lisa Raymond / Samantha Stoser (2006), Kara Black / Lizel Hueber (2007-2009), Sarah Erani / Roberta Vinci (2013-2014) and Hingis / Sanya Mirza (2015). `Latha (Chan) and I`m delighted to end the season as a leading women`s tennis team, which is a testimony to the hard work we did during the year, ` Hingis said at a press conference. Chan added, `It`s always been my goal to be at the top of the rankings, and to do it with Martina for me is a real honor, I`m proud of everything we`ve done together. `
