French police are investigating corruption at FIFA

The French police questioned former FIFA vice president Reinald Temeries as part of the investigation of corrupt practices in the election of Qatar to host the World Cup in 2022 in Qatar. Submarine, a former Tahitian footballer, is also a former FIFA vice president of Oceania`s quota. He is currently serving an eight-year penalty for any football activity. A French court official said officers from a police unit specializing in fighting corruption and detecting financial crimes traveled to Tahiti to question him this week at the request of the French financial prosecutors in charge of the investigation into the World Cup2022. The officer had spoken to the AP as an anonymous source because the action was not publicly announced and there is still no formal permission to comment on the case.
