Kevin Anderson (South Africa) qualified for the second time after 2015 for the finals of the New York City tennis tournament with a prize pool of 668, 000 dollars.
Anderson beat the three-time champion Kai Nishikori (Japan) with a 6:1, 3:6, 7:6 (4) victory.
With success, he has guaranteed a return to the top 10 of the world rankings since Monday. Nishikori was close to finishing in his first ATP series tournament in August last year when he got a wrist injury and did not play in Tura for six months.
