In Tampa`s game with Winnipeg, the referees ruled a controversial goal. The NHL regular season meeting ended with a score of 7:4 in favor of the Jets.
The scoring in the match was opened by Lightning forward Brandon Heigl, who took advantage of the fact that his partner Conor Geekie pushed the prone goalkeeper Connor Hellebuyck into the goal with his stick.
The referees recorded a goal, not seeing any interference with the goalkeeper. Winnipeg head coach Scott Arniel took the challenge, but the referees` decision remained unchanged.
For a failed challenge, the Canadian team received a two-minute penalty, which Tampa converted and led 2:0.
