Shumi Babaev spoke about the attitude of KHL judges towards Evgeniy Kuznetsov. The SKA forward is in third place in penalty minutes in the current season of the Fonbet KHL Championship.
– Have you noticed any special attitude of the judges towards Evgeny Kuznetsov?
– I think so, it’s a different attitude. Because he sees, interprets the situation in his own way, begins to explain to them: Guys, look at this.
He just doesn`t understand that the system works differently. Judges take this painfully and personally. They aggravate the situation by punishing people like this.
So don`t talk to them if they don`t understand it. If they had any desire to talk, they should have simply contacted me or the club’s management: Let us sum up some general results so that it is clear to the player.
But sometimes their actions are incomprehensible to many, not just players.
– It turns out that the referees in the NHL and the KHL are different in character?
– Of course they are different. They communicate more calmly there and always take criticism well. There are practically no such ten-minute deletions as on our website. Because everyone understands that this is a common process. You must either explain your decisions to the person, or do them the same way all the time.
If in one situation you make one decision, and then in exactly the same situation you make another, then you need to explain why you have double standards.
