Collins on conflict with Schwiatek: With women, these things become a much bigger problem than they really should be

Danielle Collins commented on the conflict with Iga Schwiatek at the Olympics in Paris. Let us remember that during the quarterfinals the American complained that Schwiatek was stalling for time and trying to manipulate. Collins then took a medical break and withdrew in the third set due to injury. At the net, she asked the Polish player not to react to her injury insincerely.
I think what happened on the court back then is very similar to situations when people have disagreements at work. This is not news to most (laughs).
I try to be the best person I can be, but that doesn`t mean I don`t make mistakes. I could have done some things differently. But then we had a moment on the court.
Collins also responded to a question about whether she spoke to Schwiatek after that.
I don`t see her often, and she`s always surrounded by people. We all make mistakes and fail and I just try to put that behind me. I think when people fight a little or have a little disagreement, that`s what happens.
In the case of women, this becomes a much bigger problem than it really should be. There is a lot of extrapolation.
