Ostrovsky on Murray’s arrival in Djokovic’s team: So far it looks more like a PR move than a real tandem

The tennis agent is not sure about the effectiveness of Novak Djokovic`s work with Andy Murray. – In 2024, another famous veteran, Andy Murray, sheathed his racket. It recently became known that the Briton will work with Djokovic in the off-season and until the end of the Australian Open. What do you think the interaction with Andy will give Novak most of all?
– I think that for now this is more like a PR stunt than a real tandem. Naturally, from the point of view of PR history, this is very interesting for the entire tennis community - for example, to see how Murray will behave in Djokovic’s boxing.
How effective will this really be? I can`t say. Much will depend on the physical condition in which Novak approaches the Australian TBS. We all know very well that if the Serb has motivation, then even at 37 years old he can defeat young opponents. And even young opponents sometimes find it difficult to compete with Djokovic! The 2024 Olympics final showed that if Novak wants something, he achieves it. On the other hand, Djokovic certainly hasn’t become any younger. Time is very difficult to deceive. I think that Novak will definitely not be able to dominate the tour in 2025.
– He won’t be able to dominate, but one Helmet will catch on?
– It seems to me that Djokovic will still win one major. Historically, the Australian Open is Novak`s favorite tournament. Most likely, the Serb will show his best result at the Helmets next season in Melbourne, said Alexander Ostrovsky in an interview with the Championship.
