Brown noted the successes of Norris and Piastri in 2024, calling the lineup the best in F1. McLaren chief executive Zak Brown recalled the victories and podiums of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri in 2024.
Every weekend you could see the best pair of drivers in Formula 1, Lando and Oscar, getting behind the wheel of the MCL38 and working for the team. And more often than not, they were among the leaders, claiming six Grand Prix victories, 21 podiums and eight pole positions, including 14 consecutive podiums - the second longest streak in the team`s history.
The pilots gave us a reason to be proud. Lando put a lot of pressure on Max [Verstappen] in the drivers` standings and became the first person to finish second in our line-up since Jenson [Button] in 2011. And Oscar, in just his second season, became the first McLaren driver to move up to fourth position since Lewis [Hamilton] in 2012.
Both drivers have had tremendous success on and off the track and have demonstrated that they have what it takes to compete for the title, ” Brown said.
