Alex de Minaur told how he copes with long departures from the house. It helps me when I am at tournaments with Katie [Bolter, bride and 24th racket of the world]. When she is near, it is much easier for me to be so far from home. I am leaving for a long time, spend a lot of time on the road. It is very important for me to do something, wherever we are: get out for dinners, for coffee, try to live an ordinary life. And it’s good to spend time with people who are nearby, whether it be friends, players or team. For me, this is the best way to pass the time in such long departures.
There is a tennis side of life, tense and nervous, requiring concentration, but as soon as you leave the court, it is better to switch to the city, different classes, trips to restaurants and cafes and just live an ordinary life as much as possible.
