Carlos Sin-Sr. confirmed the intention to run for President FIA

Carlos Sin-Sr. confirmed the intention to run for President FIA
12.05.2025

Sin-Sr. wants to become President of FIA. Two-time world rally champion and three-time winner of Dakar Carlos Saynss-Sr. confirmed that he intends to run for President FIA.
President FIA elections will be held at the end of 2025 and Sin-Sr. intends to compete with Mohammed Ben Sulaym:
There are many reasons, but I have been in racing for more than 40 years and this sport has already given me everything I could get. I have been considering this opportunity [to become President of FIA] for some time, although not too deep. But it seems to me that now the right moment has come in my career to take this step. I am sure that I can do it well with this work and collect an excellent team in order to repay this sport for everything that he gave me.
Over the years, I have accumulated vast experience and I am sure that I can bring new and interesting things to the motorsport in order to strengthen and develop both motorsport and the automobile world as a whole.
Sins-Sr. added that he would do everything possible to avoid any conflicts of interests-given that his son Carlos Sains Jr. successfully performs in Formula 1:
I have my own track record, people know me quite well to understand that this will not be a problem. Obviously, I will have to move away from participating in my son’s career, but it seems to me that this will not be a problem.
Carlos is no longer a child, he has been in Formula 1 for ten years, and we both know that if I continue to participate in this project, then our relationship, of course, will change somewhat. FIA is a very serious organization. And there will be no conflict of interest here.
